Murray & Roberts Replies To The Competition Commissions World Cup Stadia Referral Statement

12 November 2014

Johannesburg, 12 November 2014 – As released in a statement by the Competition Commission (“the Commission”) on Wednesday, 12 November 2014, regarding the Commission taking a decision to refer a case of collusive tendering in respect of tenders for the construction of 2010 FIFA World Cup stadia, Murray & Roberts can confirm it is the corporate leniency applicant. As such, it is not required at this stage to “settle” the matter with the Commission. This referral is not related to any new cases of alleged collusion, but refers to the historical cases as previously disclosed to the Commission.

Murray & Roberts will continue to cooperate with the Commission and, accordingly, expects no penalty in relation to matters relating to the world cup stadia.

As corporate leniency applicant, Murray & Roberts is confined by certain confidentiality obligations to the Commission. With this in mind, Murray & Roberts cannot go into the specifics of the matter without engaging with the Commission and/or before receiving a copy of the referral.

The Group rejects any form of anti-competitive behaviour.
